How to Setup Google+ Brand Page for Your Business

google-plus-pages-logoSince last few months Google has been taking various steps to integrate Google+ into it’s much popular search results. Since it’s inception, Google has been working hard to add more features to it’s Social network. Starting from individual profiles to games, Google has also added brand pages to Google+. Google+ brand pages are very similar to Facebook fan pages. If you still don’t have a brand page on Google+, I would highly recommend you to have one. At the same time Facebook that concentrates more on personal profiles, Google+ provides a more suitable platform for both business and personals using two different account types.

Here is how to set up a Google+ brand page for any brands:

  1. The first thing that you will need to do once you login to Google+ is click on the ‘Create a new Google+ page’ at the bottom of the rightmost column. You will be redirected to a ‘Create a page’ webpage where you need to pick a category to proceed. For creating a brand page, the most appropriate button to click is the ‘Product or Brand’ button.

  2. After clicking the button, you will need to add the information of the brand page. The details you need to insert into the form are the page name and official website of your brand or business, and also your brand category. You will also need to enter the age category of your brand page, which is vital for brands suitable for more mature Google+ users like alcohol-related brands and such. Click the ‘Create’ button to continue the setup of your brand page.
  3. The next step will be the most vital step of your setup which is customizing the brand page profile. Only the basics of your brand’s profile will be provided here which includes your brand or business’ tagline and logo. After filling them out, click the ‘Continue’ button.
  4. The next thing that you will need to do is spreading the word out that your brand page has been created in Google+. You can choose to share the brand page to your circle or add people individually. If you want to complete your brand page setup first before spreading the word, you can skip this process. Just click ‘Finish’ and you will be redirected to your brand new (and incomplete) page.
  5. Starting from this point, Google+ has created another profile for your business and any posts, comments and notifications will be from this page (To change to your personal account, click at the arrow right beside your brand name at the leftmost column and choose your personal account). You can edit your profile by clicking the Profile button (which is one of the four buttons) at the top of your page. You can put photos, videos and contact information of your brand and company at this page.
  6. After you have completed the brand information, it is the perfect time to spread the word out to your potential customers and friends. Just click the Spread the Word button and you can then choose the people who will receive the notification of your new brand page.
  7. To add more customization to your brand page, get your custom badge from Google+ badge page and just insert the id of your brand page. You can put this badge into your site so that your existing customers can connect to your brand page in Google+.

Creating a brand page in Google+ for your business is really easy. If you feel that you want to create a new brand page, just delete the page that you have created because Google+ allows multiple pages per profile. Good luck and have fun creating your Google+’s brand page!
