In this age of Facebook, twitter and Google+, does email still survive? Yes email is far more used than new social media. In 2010 alone there were around 107 trillion emails which comes to around 3.3 million email per second. That’s a lot of emails exchanged between users. No denial about the ever increasing spam problem with emails. Infact the Infographic below shows that 45% of the emails are spam and the organisations are spending huge amount to fight email spam and security.
If you compare email with other social media websites, both have a unique purpose – well how often do you receive short emails that could easily fit in with the 140 character limit? Secondly biggest concern is privacy, Facebook is already being strangled with privacy concerns. How can an organization be sure if the messages on the social networking website is safe and secure.
So guys don’t ever think email is going away it is surely going to stay here for a longer time. With around 3 billion email accounts compared to facebook and twitter, email is not going anywhere.
