YouTube Officially launches Live Streaming With IPL

The largest worldwide video-sharing community with over 2 billion views a day, YouTube officially launched YouTube Live. After streaming music videos from U2 to the Indian Premier League(IPL), to White House to E3 for the last year, YouTube live is now integrated into the core Platform. So from April 8 until May 28, 2011 – Indian Premier League followers can watch IPL 2011 online through YouTube Live at www.youtube.com/live. YouTube live streams live events concerts and sports from across the world. Even though the live streaming is in beta YouTube has already tested it before for streaming popular one-time events President Obama’s speech from White house.

We know Google loves to be in good company in broadcasting space and with competition striving from other live streaming sites like Ustream, Livestream Google has to get into this big time one way or the other.

YouTube has also started rolling out live streaming for your own Youtube channel, this feature is being rolled out to accounts with good standings (i.e no violations of YouTube terms and policy so far). The only thing required is a video camera with mic and a decent bandwidth to stream your content. So the next time you know where to stream your birthday parties and anniversary online.
