According to CNN Fortune Magazine, iPad 2 is totally sold out at location in New York City and Minneapolis. According to Gene Munster’s team at Piper Jaffray has called various retailers including Walmart, Target, BestBuy etc, but none of them see to have iPad 2 in stock, and adding to this fact, Deutsche Bank’s Chris Whitmore reported early Monday that his team called around 100 stores including Apple Best Buy and Wal-Mart stores and a handful of AT&T and Verizon stores, and none of them had iPad 2 in stock.
They also surveyed around 236 would be buyers for the iPad 2 and some of the conclusions were that Apple has already sold 400,000 to 500,000 iPad 2 till date which is around 25% – 30% more then the ones sold over the first weekend of Original iPad launch. Some of the other conclusions of the survey were that this time people are buying larger capacity iPad’s then the last time as 71% people said they are buying 32GB or more as compared to last time launch when only 60% wanted 32GB or higher capacity. The other interesting outcome of the Piper Jaffray survey was that around 70% of the buyers were new totally new to iPad and haven’t owned iPad in past.
