Google has just announced the launch of its browser-based Chrome web store at an event in San Francisco this afternoon.
Webstore allows you to buy webapps through a unified storefront. Google also uses its Google checkout system as a mode of payment for the web store. The store is launched with around 500 apps already available to download with many free, paid and subscription apps.
Amazon also used this event as the platform for announcing its web app for Kindle, The kindle webapp is an app totally built on HTML 5. The new application allows users to read downloaded/purchased titles in web browser. Although the app is not yet available to download but will be available in early 2011
