Just this year, Google has acquired around 17 companies including Aardvark, reMail, Picnik, DocVerse, Simplify Media, Episodic, PlinkArt, Agnilux, LabPixies, Bump Technologies, Global IP Solutions, Simplify Media, Invite Media, ITA Software, Metaweb, Instantiations, Slide.com and Jambool.
I know its touch to keep track of all the acquisitions made by the Giant, so below is a neat graph created by folks at Scores.org, which shows all that Google’s been snathing since last 10 years. From Picasa to Keyhole to MeasureMap to YouTube to Aardvark – they’re all there. Just keep in mind this report also includes investments made by Google in various companies like Zynga, but they are labelled with an asterisk.
One important thing to notice is Google is still looking for more domestic acquisitions. See the chart below which demonstrates around 80% of the last 30 acquisitions done by Google were from United States. Does Google needs to look outside?
