Google, the ever expanding giant continues to expand into new markets and challenge the existing players. After having met the failure with Nexus One, though we believe the device to be just awesome, Google is getting ready to launch another piece of hardware powered by Chrome OS in partnership with Verizon and HTC.
Rumors about an HTC tablet are nothing new, but today is the first time we are hearing about a possible Chrome OS powered table from HTC. The device is set to launch on November 26th, 2010, also known as “Black Friday”, the busiest shopping day of the year. Sources also adds that the device will be priced much cheaper or even go for free with service agreements from Verizon. If this comes true then Apple’s iPad the present leader in the tablets will have tough time asking users to pay $499 or more for its device.
The device is also said to be launched with the following specification:
- NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip
- 1280×720 multitouch display
- 32 GB SSD (minimum)
- 2 GB RAM
- WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G connectivity
- GPS
- Webcam
- Possible expandable storage via a multi-card reader
We can’t wait to hear more details about this tablet and see how Apple responds to this.
